We are about to embark on a 21 hour road trip to visit family in Utah. I am very excited about spending time with family, hanging out on the farm, camping in the mountains and cooler weather…I am not excited about being in the car for 21 hours with my beautiful (sometimes whiny) kids. I have been a little stressed about this trip and have tried to come up with some fun things for them to do along the way. In the process I decided to make them some new goodies to play with.
First project – “I Spy” bags.
I made 2 for each kid and followed the very easy tutorial by My Crafty Side. I tweaked them a little bit and made them smaller, and did some with circle window.
Hopefully, they will spend hours looking for the letters in their name, pennies, butterflies, flowers and so much more (a girl can dream right?)
The Second Project was for Parker.
I saw this very cute Cozy Car Caddy several months ago and wanted to make one, but just never got around to it. What better time to whip one (or two) out then the week we leave for vacation…
I made one for our friends who will be taking a trip in a few weeks as well.
I only used materials I had on hand so it isn’t perfect, but I know Parker is going to love playing with his cars and going “vroom, vroom.”
And finally I made the girls some new paper dolls.
Aubrey could spend a good hour dressing up her dolls (and Piper wants to be just like big sister) so I made her some new ones to keep her entertained.
Our car is packed and I have tons of snacks, games, stickers, coloring books, movies and a few new toys to keep everyone entertained!
